Om eventet

We are proud to present you to the new exhibition series “DIVIDED SUMMER” by Danish artist and illustrator Anton Ian Nielsen.

WHEN AND WHERE ? Monday Studio (of course) Matthæusgade 21, 1666 kbh

The exhibition is split into two : October 15: Grand opening at 17.00 October 29: Grand opening at 17.00

DIVIDED SUMMER 30/30

This exhibition is a two-part exhibition from Anton Ian Nielsen. During the span of a few weeks in a summer house, he painted 60 small paintings (A3), depicting his state of mind and impressions in that period. The themes revolve around vacation, leisure, pleasure, animals and man in relation to his environment.

The paintings work as a diary, with quick strokes and simple gestures to suggest the scenery that happened in summer of 21’. The paintings are painted quickly with a naivistic, cartoonish style, with emphasis on compositions, values and (in the latter series) color.

BLACK AND WHITE

On the 15th you’ll see 30 framed pictures depicting the black and white ink collection, where the values, shading and outlines define the subject, creating a more decisive look in the absence of color.

LIFE IN COLOR

On the 29th, you’ll see 30 framed pictures in vibrant colors, with a loose style portraying animals and people on vacation. As in the life, the contrasts define the playing ground of what’s possible, without darkness, the light would be meaningless and without darkness, the value of light would falter.
