Hi Sarah. How would you like to introduce yourself to a stranger?

Hi stranger, I'm Sarah. I am extraordinarily special and unique - just like you.

What makes you smile?

What makes me smile? Animals, definitely, and people who shine in their own light. As for what people should know about me, nothing, I think? Then they can figure something out for themselves, and I am free.

How would do discribe your work in art?

I would describe my style as "appropriate vulnerability," a concept that resonated with me during a yoga class. Growing up in the 90s, vulnerability often seemed out of place, yet it's where I find the most authenticity and comfort, even when it's uncomfortable.

With my camera, I create a safe space for this vulnerability, allowing subjects to reveal themselves in genuine moments. This approach excites me because it invites viewers to experience the same ease and openness, interpreting each photograph in their own way.

Why the camera?

Photography runs in my family.

My granddad was a photographer for The Daily Mirror, capturing sports and intimate moments. I got my first camera at 12 and immediately fell in love with the medium. Although I don't label myself strictly as an artist, I see photography as a craft that I honed over time, initially out of necessity rather than artistic ambition.

Growing up with financial constraints shaped my priorities, focusing on stability rather than artistic expression. However, I've come to realize that everything I do reflects my self-image and that we are all artists in our own right.

Our lives are our greatest masterpieces, crafted by the choices we make and the truths we uncover.
