MONDAY MAG UPDATE w/ Emil Bagge
Art Monday is happy to present you to Emil Bagge in the AUG.25 edition of the MONDAY MAGAZINE.
Bagge is a painter of quiet situations and familiar moments, and his work circles around the unnoticed rhythms of everyday life.
His images feel immediate and unpolished, balancing between the personal and the universal ... small scenes that seem simple at first glance, but linger with a subtle tension beneath the surface.

Part of MONDAY MAGAZINE & exhibition - august 2025.
Concept & idea by Jakob Hindhede. Published by Art Monday.
In his own words, “a cup of coffee is a cup of coffee” - whether you are a rockstar or a hobo. Emil Bagge’s practice questions what we project onto the ordinary and how meaning is shaped less by objects than by the person holding them.
His works explore boredom, routine, and the hours we spend awake, turning everyday interiors, objects, and moments into quiet reflections on identity and proximity.
There is a deliberate naïveté in the compositions and use of color, where abstraction and figuration meet without hierarchy. Chairs, cups, rooms, bodies, and shapes appear almost childlike, yet emotionally charged - as if the images are asking simple questions with uncomfortable clarity: Who is experiencing this moment? And why does it matter?
Emil Bagge takes part in Monday Magazine, published in August 2025, and is also presented through an exhibition at Monday Studio. His work fits naturally into Art Monday’s ongoing exploration of contemporary everyday narratives - where art does not shout, but insists on being noticed.
We invite you to experience more of Emil Bagge’s universe through our upcoming publications and exhibitions, and to spend a little more time with the ordinary moments we so often overlook.
