Monday Misc is a weekend at Monday Studio, on a Friday and Saturday more or less every first weekend of the month, except January. It's a mixed bag on purpose. Different artists, different styles, different mediums, all in the same room at the same time.

A painting can hang next to a sound piece. Someone showing their work for the first time can share a wall with someone who has done it for years. Prints, sculpture, objects, textiles, books and zines all have a place. The point is the mix. Work that would normally never meet ends up side by side for a weekend, and so do the people who come to see it.

Some weekends have a little extra. A new issue of Monday Magazine launches, or a book comes out. Every edition has its own line-up, and you'll find it on the event page.

It grew out of years of smaller things: markets, launches, talks, pop-ups and parties. Instead of giving each one its own crowd, we put them under one name and let them overlap. Books meet exhibitions. Artists meet neighbours. Collectors meet people who have never bought a piece of art before.

Entry is free, and you don't need to know anything in advance. Stop by for ten minutes or stay a while. Curiosity is enough.

Who's behind it

Monday Misc is run by Art Monday, a Copenhagen art platform and publisher that has worked with emerging and self-taught artists since 2015. Monday Studio on Vesterbro is its home: an art and book shop, tattoo studio and event space under one roof.
