BOOK RELEASE - BAGGAARDSBARONER w/ PUKAS DØD & GRÆSSULT
October 24th, Baggaardsbaroner took over Monday Studio and launched their two new books, all from our cosy store in Copenhagen.
For one evening, Monday Studio turned into a literary clubhouse, packed with Hungarian inspired cocktails in hand, drums echoing through the room, and football’s lost innocence hanging in the air.
Together with Baggaardsbaroner, we celebrated the release of their two new books that, in very different ways, circle around community, doubt, love for the game, and everything that slips through our fingers along the way.

A book launch by Baggaardsbaroner at Monday Studio, October 24th.
pssst... a heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up and filled the space with curiosity, laughter, late-night conversations, and sharp questions.
And a special thanks to the authors for sharing their work, their thoughts, and their time...
We're happy to see so many people who welcomed our evening of fun, and thanks to the local 3rd division football club, and the overall mood hovering somewhere between bar, terrace, and book launch of course...
– without you, there is no celebration. ❤️
and about the books
Jonas Villumsen returned in strong form with the novel Græssult.
Written as a series of electronic postcards to a god he doesn’t really believe in, and perhaps still reaches for, the book unfolds as a quiet yet insistent microcosm of coffee cup rituals, divorce, literary football reportage, the life and death of houseplants, and the fragile sense of belonging found in the stands.
The book is accompanied by atmospheric photographs by Anders Hviid, who over two years captured life on Copenhagen’s lower-division terraces - images that were also available as poster prints throughout the night.
At the same time, journalist and author Peter Rewers presented PUSKÁS DØD, a death requiem for one of the greatest footballers of all time, Ferenc Puskás. Set on a hospital bed in Budapest, the novel follows a dying legend haunted by doubt and regret. It is a story about the essence of football, about exile and ideals, and about a revolutionary liberation of the game that may have led it far away from its noble origins.
We celebrated the birth of two beautiful, melancholic, and uncompromising works. With stronger wine and the best kind of beers for the early arrivals, full glasses as the night went on, drums, conversations, and books passing from hand to hand.
Thank you for being part of it.
We’ll do it again.
