SPRING KNIT

"How do you print on knitwear?" — was usually the first thing people asked, and we probably answered by showing them.

A quick decision

The first collection from STORM//PETRA was more a quick decision than a planned collaboration. The garments were already knitted, the prints were sitting in a folder, and very quickly the idea of a collection of 8 pieces became real. The thinking behind the project came second; execution and curiosity about what's possible came first instead.

From folder to show

Within a few weeks there was printing, sewing and photoshoots, and finally the whole knit collection was presented at Designers Riot, an event with several designers taking part.

"The idea of inviting more artists into the project laid some foundations we honestly didn't realise we were laying."

The start of a collaboration

Knit dresses, sweaters and shorts became the conversation starter for a collaboration that sticks to the idea of what's possible rather than what could go wrong. An idea became a project, the project became an event, and the event became an idea for a collaboration.

"I felt the knitwear was missing something extra, and I honestly can't quite remember how we got the idea — it all happened so fast."
