Hi Kuda. How would you intro yourself?

Heyo! My name is Kuda, a visual artist based in Copenhagen. I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and moved to Australia as a kid, so I have a blend of both cultures. I explore human emotions through colorful yet subtle expressions.

What do you love?

I love seeing people connect with my work and find their own stories in it. My art reflects my personal journey of healing and transformation, which I believe speaks to everyone.

How would you discribe your art?

I work in a fusion of neo-expressionism, abstraction, and pop art. These elements help me express complex emotions without saying a word. My characters often have subdued, taciturn expressions contrasted with vibrant colors, reflecting the inner landscapes we all navigate. I find joy in using color as my primary language, telling stories and conveying emotions in a way that words often can't.

The creative process is exhilarating for me - each piece is a new exploration and a fresh dialogue with the canvas.

For how long have you worked with art?

I've been seriously pursuing art since 2019, though my passion started in childhood. Before this, I worked as a journalist, which eventually led me back to art as a form of therapy. The transition wasn’t easy - financial stability and gaining visibility in the art world are constant challenges. However, the joy of creation and the satisfaction of completing a piece make it all worthwhile.

Looking ahead, I aim to expand my artistic reach both locally and internationally. I'm excited to explore new mediums, like sculpture and fashion, and to collaborate with other artists and organizations. My journey has taught me the importance of mentorship and networking, which I now actively seek to grow as an artist.
