It's with great pleasure we now introduce you to Laura Bro, a 25-year-old artist that creates colorful and somewhat childlike images . Let's explore her journey and artistic vision.
Hi Laura. What Makes You Smile and What Should People Know About You?
Hi Jakob, my name is Laura. I'm 25 years old and live in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. I love painting colorful, somewhat childlike images that are a direct extension of my vivid imagination. Seeing my ideas come to life on the canvas always makes me smile. My art has given me a way to express my dreams and thoughts in a beautiful and liberating manner.
I want people to know that I paint from the heart and that my art is an honest reflection of my soul and experiences.
How Would You Describe Your Style in Your Own Words?
I enjoy taking something chaotic and overwhelming from my mind and transforming it into something beautiful and visually appealing. Working with colors and shapes gives me a sense of freedom and joy. My style is driven by the urge to turn mental chaos into visual harmony, creating a space where my thoughts and feelings can be freely explored and expressed.
Tell us, How did it all start?
I have been creative since I was very young, experimenting a lot with collages, photos, and drawings. I started painting on canvas just over six months ago when I was dealing with stress and began medication for my ADHD. This period gave me the calmness to focus and explore my creativity in a new way. My journey into art has been a means to find peace and channel my thoughts into something tangible.
In the next few years, I dream of moving to the countryside and having my own large studio with high ceilings and plenty of space to experiment. I hope to continue exhibiting my works and that they will keep capturing people's interest.
I plan to keep painting from the heart, remain curious, and see where my creativity leads me. My goal is to stay true to my artistic vision and continue growing both personally and professionally in the art world.
If You Hadn't Become an Artist, What Would You Be Doing Instead?
If I hadn't become an artist, I would still need to create something. Fortunately, I have a creative job that I love, which also allows me to express myself visually and creatively. Creating is an integral part of who I am, and I would always find a way to incorporate it into my life.
Art is important because it can inspire, provoke, and create dialogue. I believe it gives many people a more meaningful existence. Art has the power to evoke emotions, foster connections, and challenge perspectives, making it an essential part of our lives and culture.
The most fun aspect of working with art is that I can create exactly what I want, with no limits to experimentation. My brain thinks very visually, so working with colors, shapes, and patterns is a great gift for me. The most challenging part is maintaining faith in myself in a world filled with talented and skilled artists whom I look up to.
